He highlights how the redesign of urban spaces can support everyday life, create places for people to meet and connect, and help cities address challenges such as the urban heat island effect.
At the same time, improving urban spaces can also raise important social questions. Prof. Grulois points to the risk of gentrification and reminds us that livability is not only about creating better places, but also about considering who is able to benefit from these improvements.
