Which Registration Category shall I choose?

Paper Presenters
Please register to present your paper at the symposium. Papers that have been submitted are currently in the peer review and revision process. After your paper has been accepted, you can register for the symposium until 15 January 2027, where you will need to provide the TSTL submission number, TSTL submission title as well as a full list of authors. At least one author of your paper must indicate the accepted paper during the registration process in order to guarantee a space for presentation. Presentation slides need to be uploaded by 30 March 2027. Further information on the presentation upload will be provided at a later date. Outstanding paper presentations will be considered for the paper presentation award.
If your paper is not accepted for presentation, you will have the opportunity to register for the poster track until 15 January 2027 and show your research in a poster session instead.

Visibility Lab
The Visibility Lab at WSSTL provides consortia and research groups as well as practitioners and municipalities with a platform to showcase their projects through creative formats. It provides a chance to make a highlighted, custom presentation that can be held in various formats of your choice before, during and after WSSTL 2027, such as a podcast, video, blog, small exhibition, multi-media presentation, etc., in front of an expert audience. Additionally, Visibility Lab contributions will be published in the WSSTL 2027 symposium booklet, which will be distributed to all participants. This offers high visibility for your project.
There will be a possibility to partner with student “buddies” to co-create personalised materials for your presentation. The Visibility Lab is intended to highlight projects and works of consortia, research groups, and practitioners that contribute to improve the livability of cities and sustainability of transport. Commercial corporate advertising is not permitted in this track. Outstanding submissions will be eligible for the Visibility Lab award.
To present within the Visibility Lab, please submit your proposal by 15 October 2026 through our submission portal using this proposal form. We welcome proposals that align thematically with WSSTL themes. For more details please examine our call for Visibility Lab page. Proposals will be reviewed and if your proposal is accepted, you will have the possibility to partner with student “buddies” to co-create presentation materials. If you are interested in partnering with student buddies (optional), please register for the symposium by 31 October 2026. Alternatively, you can create your presentation materials by yourself. In this case you must register for the symposium by 15 January 2027. One team member must register for Visibility Lab in order to guarantee a space for presentation. All additional team members that would like to attend the symposium must register as a regular attendee. Presentation materials need to be delivered by 31 January 2027.

Poster Authors
We invite you to show your work addressing sustainable transport and livability in a poster session at WSSTL 2027 that align thematically with the conference Themes. For more information, please visit our call for poster presentation page. Please submit an abstract (maximum of 250 words) by 15 October 2026 using the submission portal. Note that submission of an abstract is not an automatic registration for WSSTL 2027. All abstracts will go through a review process, with review results expected by 30 November 2026. If your poster is accepted, you can register for the symposium until 15 January 2027. Please upload your poster by 15 March 2027. Changes to the poster after this date will not be possible. The organising committee will handle the printing of posters.

Invited NGOs are kindly asked to submit the proposal form by 15 October 2026 through the submission portal . If your proposal is accepted, there is the option to partner with student “buddies” to co-create your presentation material. If you are interested in partnering with student buddies (optional), please register for the symposium as NGO pitch presenter until 31 October 2026. Alternatively, you can create your presentation material by yourself. In this case you must register for the symposium as a NGO pitch presenter until 15 January 2027 in order to guarantee a space for your presentation. The registration provides free access to the first day (30.03.2027) of the symposium only. If you wish to attend the symposium on additional days, you will need to register as a regular attendee. Presentation materials need to be submitted by 31 January 2027.

Media
Complimentary registration is available to accredited media and press representatives, subject to the conditions below and to availability.
- Proof of accreditation is required: a valid press card, an outlet-issued staff ID, or — for freelancers — a signed letter from an editor confirming the assignment.
- Applicants sign a short media pledge confirming their intent to produce coverage of the conference and agreeing to share the resulting article, report, or broadcast piece with the organizing team after it’s published.
In addition, applicants must meet at least one of the following:
- at least 5 paid delegates are already registered or expected from the applicant’s country,
- a keynote speaker is affiliated with an institution based in the applicant’s country, or
- the outlet has a specialized editorial focus on the conference’s subject area.
Other information for the media participants:
- Complimentary media places are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to applicants who meet all conditions; early application is recommended.
- Complimentary registration covers conference sessions and standard delegate materials. It does not include the gala dinner or other separately ticketed events.
- Applications must be submitted by 28.02.2027, including accreditation proof, the signed pledge, and evidence for whichever eligibility condition above applies. You can obtain the pledge document and make your application by emailing wsstl2027@tuwien.ac.at.
- Applicants will be notified of the outcome by 15.03.2027.
- The organising team may request additional verification and reserves the right to decline or revoke accreditation.
